In the Sockers’ inaugural season, was named Most Valuable Player by his teammates.
Was also named second team all-conference in the PDL South.
Finished among the PDL’s top 10 goalkeepers in games (tied for fourth), saves (sixth with 75), minutes (eighth with 1,347) and wins (tied for eighth with 7). He made eight saves in a tremendous, 1-0, win over Laredo at Grande Communications Stadium (May 15, 2009).
In two playoff games, he allowed just one goal in regulation time.
Leif played four seasons (2004-07) at Eastern New Mexico University, posting 17 career wins and was the first player in ENMU history to be named 1st Team All-SSC (Southwest Soccer Conference).
Leif served as a graduate assistant coach at ENMU each of the last two seasons and is completing his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education (with a minor in coaching).
His playing career also includes a previous stint in the PDL, with the Sioux Falls (South Dakota) Spitfire in 2007.
A native of the Texas panhandle, Leif graduated from AmarilloHigh School in 2003.
