Soccer season is just a few months away and the roster is beginning to take shape with the return of three players from the 2009 roster, and one new addition for 2010. 

The Midland RockHounds and the West Texas United Sockers are working with Minor League Baseball, the Red Cross and UNICEF to help raise awareness in West Texas and encourage donations to help victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

On Wednesday May 12, 2010 the West Texas United Sockers proudly present Trauma Awareness Day 2010. Come on out for a fun filled, and educational event at Grande Communications Stadium. Program begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a soccer game at 11 a.m!

This past weekend, the Sockers season came to a close with a heartbreaking 1-0 overtime loss to perennial PDL power Laredo.  The accomplishments by the team were not lost however.  In the team’s inaugural season many accomplishments were held in high esteem by the league office as well as many members of the Unites States soccer community.
